Combat the Pastor Shortage

Churches need pastors …

It’s no secret that America is facing a pastor shortage. Here are a few statistics that show the gravity and urgency of the situation:

  • There are fewer incoming pastors. 7 out of 10 pastors agree that it’s hard to find mature, young Christians who have a desire to become pastors. *
  • A greater percentage of pastors is close to retiring than in 1992. In fact, there are now more full-time senior pastors who are over the age 65 than under the age of 40. *
  • And more may leave due to burnout. In March 2022, 42% of Protestant pastors had given real, serious consideration to quitting full-time ministry within that year, compared to 29% in January 2021. *

Moreover, churches not only need pastors to replace retiring leaders, they need pastors who are highly trained to preach as older leaders are.

So we want to help fill the gap.

That’s why we have our 500x5x5 vision to put 500 pastors on the path to the pulpit in the next 5 years — and every 5 years after that. To help more pastors get training they need, we offer a variety of course options which allow anyone to complete any degree in person, remotely, or through a combination of both.

Choose the degree that meets your current needs and helps you prepare for the pastoral ministry God is calling you to. If you want to talk through your options, call us at (864) 241-1657 or request info here.
