Preview Day, November 11-12

Preview Day, November 11-12

The Stewart Custer Lecture Series provides a great opportunity for those who are interested in BJU Seminary to get a specialized visit to campus. The lecture series, which honors one of our most celebrated scholars, the late Dr. Stewart Custer, promotes scholarship in service of the church. Each fall for the lecture series, BJU seminary invites to campus a published author whose scholarly work addresses contemporary challenges to the church. The theme this past year was “In the Heart of the Storm: Glorifying God in Our Hostile World.”

THIS YEAR’S THEME: “POLITICS & THE CHRISTIAN CONSCIENCE,” FEATURING ANDY NASELLI

In the United States, political drama is being played out in the media every day: Republican vs Democrat, conservative vs liberal, capitalism vs socialism, those who are for Trump vs those who are against him, and so forth. How do we respond to this political theater as believers in Christ?

To answer that question, we are welcoming to our campus Dr. Andy Naselli, coauthor of Conscience: What It Is, How to Train It, and Loving Those Who Differ. He will apply his work on the conscience to the political scene, addressing the political issues on which all Christian should agree and also addressing issues on which it is fine for Christian to disagree as a matter of conscience. He will also explain biblically how believers may properly and graciously disagree in such matters.

As an added feature, Dr. Naselli will also present some of his recent research, a biblical theology of snake and dragons, a forthcoming publication set to appear in the Fall of 2020.

A PERFECT TIME TO PREVIEW SEMINARY

The amount of visiting students for this preview day is small, which will give you the opportunity to get a personalized, one-on-one experience. We realize seminary is a big decision to make; this visit will allow you to have your questions answered. Our faculty would love to spend time with you so you can get to know them and pray about the Lord leading you here to study. And if you are married, this will be a great chance for your wife to engage with you in your decision. This is different from all of our other events because it is designed specifically to help with your decision for seminary.

We’d love for you to join us. If you’re considering training at BJU Seminary, Preview Day is a great opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like. Click here to sign up for the Stewart Custer Lecture Series. Or click here if you would like to join as part of Preview Day.
